BRIEF

To create a truly rewarding team building programme, with high profile social events, and which also incorporated contact with local, professional peers.

LOGISTIC REQUIREMENTS

To create, coordinate and manage the complete on-site programme for a 4 day programme for 129 persons – including accommodation, meals and social events – focussed on “esprit de corps” and during which all guests must feel that they are really appreciated.

PROGRAMME

The group arrived early on Monday evening, travelling on two different flights and was accommodated at the Radisson SAS Strand Hotel. The first social event was to be “an old town, cellar dinner” for which Restaurant 5 Små Hus in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (old town) was reserved and an extravagant, 4 course dinner was served in the medieval cellars. On Tuesday, m/s Stockholm docked in front of the hotel: once on board, the group enjoyed a full day cruise on Stockholm’s inner waterways, pampered with superb catering and visiting the island of Waxholm. The evening started with a trip with 3 chartered, veteran trams from the hotel, past the Skansen Open Air Museum to the fantastic Wasa museum, for a private opening and reception, before enjoying a gourmet dinner at Restaurant Josefina. The programme for the third day gave the participants the possibility to choose 6 different activities during the morning, ranging from exploring Gamla Stan on foot to racing through the archipelago on Zodiac boats for lunch on an isolated island. The evening’s gala dinner was arranged in Stockholm City Hall, drawing considerable inspiration from the Nobel Awards Ceremony dinners: cocktails, canapées, 5 courses, wine, coffee and cognac – and then dancing until the early hours. Thursday was given over to relaxation and preparation for the return to France.

IN PRACTICE

Planning and preparations started some nine months before operation with the composition and fine tuning of a creative programme that fulfilled the client’s criteria – a process which proved to be challenging. The operation required variously 3 or 4 motor coaches for all transportation and, on Wednesday, with 6 different activities in various parts of the city/area simultaneously, communication between the on site management staff was exceptionally important and everybody had to maintain focus on timing and coordination – taking care of one group at one time but remaining aware of developments in 5 other locations at other times.

RESULT

The goals for the trip, set by Systéme U about a year earlier, were fulfilled and the participants returned to France refreshed, revitalised and motivated.
