Housing Agent for one of the biggest sporting Events in the World!

First United was the Housing Agency for Bergen 2017 UCI Road World Championships

The UCI Road World Championships is one of the biggest sporting events in the world. In 2017, this event will took place in Bergen and the region. The UCI Road World Championships consist of 12 competitions over 9 days. 1.150 athletes from over 80 countries took part and raced for the coveted rainbow jersey. More than 500.000 spectators, and a massive 300 million TV viewers from around the globe watched the event. About 7.000 was accredited for the event.

In 2015 First United was appointed the official Housing Agent for the UCI Road World Cycling Championships Bergen 2017, which meant that First Untied was responsible for hotel accommodation coordination and booking for all cycling teams, sponsors, police, organizers and visitors during the 14 days event in Bergen. With a total of 4.000 rooms divided on some 30 hotels in Bergen and the region. First Untied handled NOK 30 mill turnover of hotel reservations.

As the Housing agent, First United was solely responsible for the final contracting of all hotel prices and commission conditions, including cancellation conditions and attritions rules based on close cooperation with the UCI and LOC Bergen 2017 management. The core purpose was to secure rooms to all the different segments; national teams, sponsors, corporate groups, leisure groups and individuals in a professional and quality ensured manner. In addition to this room block administration, First United was also requested to coordinate logistical and destination management needs for all segments.

Everything, starting from the location of the event, entertainment program (fishing and
helicopter fjord tour) and food was arranged flawlessly. Given the diverse itinerary it was very impressive that you managed to keep our group to schedule. I hope to see you again in the future!
