Danish Architecture & Design as the Backdrop of a High-packed Meeting Programme

Brief

To create the setting for an inspiring top management meeting that included modern design, climate and ecology focus as well as the traditional characteristics of Denmark.

Logistics Requirements 

The operation and management of a 3 day/2 night programme for 140 persons which included comprehensive meeting activities, both in plenum and parallel sessions, as well as a high profile social programme of personalized sightseeing and customized dinner events.

Programme

The participants arrived individually at Copenhagen Airport and were assisted with transportation to the iconic Hotel Skt. Petri. Hotel Skt. Petri was selected by the client due to its architectonic and design features which were very important, subjective factors for the client. The hotel was exclusively reserved, for the client, who had sole use of all meeting facilities with daily plenary sessions and up to 13 simultaneous breakout sessions –often involving multiple changes of set up, a full team of technicians and a professional photographer. The first day was rounded off with an all-evening buffet, continuously replenished, for all arriving guests. Each day started with the arrival of the morning editions of 3 international newspapers, specially delivered for the client. On the second day, after the morning meeting session, all guests were transferred to Nyhavn for a three course Danish lunch in characteristic surroundings. After lunch, the guests were met by local guides, who were specialized in particular themes – Danish design, sustainable gastronomy, architecture, ecology, climate and our carbon footprint. The tours used diverse transportation – rickshaws, motor coaches, on foot and public transportation. The day closed with an elegant, 5 course private dinner – with a green focus – at Brasserie Club Royal, overlooking the sea just north of the city centre. The final day was taken up with a morning plenary session and a wealth of breakout sessions, followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch. After lunch, all participants were transferred to the airport to connect with individual departure flights.

In practice

Preparations began with relatively short notice, some 3½ months prior to implementation. During this period the client effected 2 site inspections and the event was the subject of intense control and committed project management by First United. During implementation, all activities were coordinated by our project manager in cooperation with the client’s event directors and a full team of project assistants.

Result 

Investment Solutions is one of the three divisions of the Bank BNP Paribas which comprises 30.000 people in total so we are really pleased that the event was completed with success – well organized and successful meetings, enjoyable social activities and good food.
